Chemistry in the Living Earth
GRADUATION CREDIT:
Fulfills Physical Science requirement
A—G CATEGORY:
d
OPEN TO GRADES:
10-12
PREREQUISITES:
None; All 10th graders will be enrolled in this course
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Chemistry is the study of the structure of matter-atoms,
molecules, crystals, solutions – and how that structure is related
to the properties and behavior of matter. A quantitative approach
is used to investigate the processes that occur during chemical
change, when matter changes its form, and with the energy that
is always involved with those processes. Basic principles of
chemistry are developed and applied to real life situations.
This course is designed to provide a solid foundation for further
study of science.
